Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Home Flow collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language so it's easy to understand — not just to satisfy legal requirements, but because we believe you deserve to know exactly how your information is handled.

1. Introduction

Home Flow ("we," "our," or "us") is a home organization and wellness app designed to help you reduce overwhelm through guided household routines, cleaning flows, task management, reminders, and motivational content. Home Flow is developed and operated by Cristina Perri and is accessible at cristinaperri.com/home-flow.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Home Flow mobile application (available on iOS and Android) and the associated website at cristinaperri.com/home-flow. By using Home Flow, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app or website.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide you with a useful, personalized, and reliable experience.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: If you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
  • Profile preferences: Your first name (used to personalize greetings), selected home spaces (e.g., kitchen, bedroom), and app preferences such as notification settings and read-aloud preferences.
  • Support communications: If you contact us for support, we receive your email address and the content of your message.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Information about how you interact with the app, such as which flows you complete, features you use, and how often you open the app.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Crash and diagnostic data: Technical information to help us identify and fix bugs and improve app stability.
  • Analytics data: Aggregated, anonymized data about app usage patterns collected through third-party analytics tools (see Section 5).

2.3 Subscription and Payment Information

Home Flow offers optional premium subscription features. All payment transactions are processed entirely by Apple (via the App Store) or Google (via Google Play). We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status from these platforms.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or any sensitive personal information unless you explicitly provide it to us for support purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize the app: Greeting you by name, tailoring flow recommendations to your selected home spaces, and remembering your preferences.
  • To manage your account and subscription: Creating and maintaining your account, verifying subscription status, and managing premium access.
  • To send notifications and reminders: Delivering the gentle reminders and nudges you opt into within the app settings.
  • To improve the app: Analyzing usage patterns and crash reports to fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features.
  • To provide customer support: Responding to your questions and resolving issues.
  • To communicate with you: Sending important updates about the app, this policy, or your account where required.
  • To comply with legal obligations: Meeting applicable legal requirements in Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions where we operate.

We will not use your information for purposes materially different from those described above without providing notice and, where required by law, obtaining your consent.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating the app, contractually required to protect your information and only use it to perform services on our behalf.
  • App store platforms: Apple and Google receive information necessary to process your subscription and deliver the app, subject to their own privacy policies.

5.4 Analytics Providers

We may use analytics tools to understand how users interact with the app. These tools collect anonymized, aggregated usage data and do not identify you personally. We will update this section as specific providers are integrated.

5.5 Future Integrations

As Home Flow grows, we may integrate additional third-party services for features such as cloud sync, AI-powered recommendations, or enhanced customer support. We will update this Privacy Policy and notify users before any new data-sharing practices take effect.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls limiting who can view your data.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the app's services. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes.

Usage and analytics data that has been anonymized may be retained indefinitely as it can no longer be linked to you personally.

8. Children's Privacy

Home Flow is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at cristinaperri@cristinaperri.com and we will promptly delete that information.

Users between the ages of 13 and 17 should use Home Flow only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.

9. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information.
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out of notifications: Disable push notifications in device settings or within the app's Me tab at any time.
  • Withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

9.1 Canadian Users (PIPEDA)

If you are located in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

9.2 California Users (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

10. International Users

Home Flow is operated from Canada and is primarily intended for users in Canada and the United States. If you access the app from outside these countries, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Canada or the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using Home Flow, you consent to this transfer.

11. Local Data Storage

Many of Home Flow's features — including your daily flow progress, selected home spaces, and preferences — are stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device unless you enable optional cloud sync features (if and when available). You can clear this data at any time by deleting the app.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Home Flow after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
